Responsibilities

Key Projects and Responsibilities:

As a Buyer/Planner Intern, you will have the chance to make an impact through the following projects:

Project #1:
Inventory management – Take part in inventory tracking, audits, analysis, and the implementation of strategies for inventory reduction and optimization.

Project #2:
Analyzing data between SAP and our WMS systems – Collect, compare, and analyze inventory and order data between SAP and the Warehouse Management System. Support standardization and discrepancy resolution to ensure accurate, real-time inventory visibility.

Project #3:
Issuing POs to suppliers – Issue purchase orders to suppliers, maintain accurate records, ensure timely order confirmations and deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers to meet production and inventory needs.

Other Daily Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate computer records for supplier data, effective dates, and related entries.
  • Coordinate parts and materials availability with production scheduling, suppliers, engineering, and quality assurance teams.
  • Develop and manage inventory planning and scheduling methods to achieve Customer Service and Inventory Reduction Objectives.
  • Implement and refine methods such as KanBan, JIT, Vendor Managed Inventory, Demand Flow Technology, supply agreements, and Demand Driven KanBan to continuously improve Materials Planning performance.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Operations & Supply Chain or Business Administration (preferred).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform tasks involving extended periods of sitting, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending, and minimal lifting.
