Overview

As a Process Engineer, you will be working daily with the Production team, and be responsible for engineering matters relating to identifying, developing, and implementing production methods, systems, and processes, to achieve objectives to improve Safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will investigate and implement ways to improve the ergonomics and overall safety of the workstations. You will lead coordination for equipment and process improvements for new and existing product lines through investigating and evaluating equipment options, understanding process capability, designing assembly stations, determining material movement processes, and optimizing process efficiency and cost. You will be able to participate in cross-functional teams representing manufacturing engineering. You will also collaborate with colleagues in other engineering functions as well as production, product engineering, and after-sales service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ergonomic analysis on workstations and implement equipment or develop methods to improve.
  • Designing and planning equipment layout for better part flow.
  • Determine costs and savings related to a specific project to write either an Appropriations Request for capital expenditure, or a Purchase Order for Expensed items.
  • Implementing tools, equipment, and procedures to reduce assembly errors and quality defects.
  • Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes.
  • Estimating production costs.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience/Education:

· High School diploma or equivalent required.

· Bachelors of Science in an Engineering Discipline

 

 

Skills and Abilities:

· Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs not working as planned, asking the right questions and finding answers that work.

· Ingenuity for using the broad concepts of engineering and applying them to address specific production problems.

· Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships with other employees working with the production process. Working successfully with many levels of the organization.

 

Physical Requirements:

· Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
