Overview

The Senior CAD Designer is responsible for the design and development of laundry equipment using computer aided design tools, as well as mentoring and providing guidance on drawing and modeling techniques to others on team.

Responsibilities

  • Create models, assemblies and drawings utilizing Creo for all of Alliance Laundry’s product lines. Design components using advanced design techniques.
  • Support engineering activities for various product lines and support all phases of the product development process, i.e. prototyping, testing, pilot runs, implementation.
  • Detail and release drawings using Windchill PDMLink, Electronic Engineering Change Notice system, and View and Print. Adhere to and enforce companywide CAD standards.
  • Maintain top level layouts for one or more product lines.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies to resolve design challenges.
  • Mentor junior designers and team members on effective process flow management.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or other related field
  • 5+ years of design related experience using Pro/Engineer/Creo required

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of Family Tables, Large Assembly Management, Sheet Metal, and Plastics/Castings
  • Subject Matter Expert in Pro/Engineer/Creo
  • Proficient in Windchill PDM systems or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, preferred.
  • Appliance industry experience, preferred
  • Advanced ability to analyze issues and implement solutions
  • Ability to guide and train less experienced team members
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively throughout the organization
  • Attention to detail with high level of accuracy in design and documentation

 

 

Travel: Less than 10%

Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
