Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Alliance Laundry Systems, you will leverage your extensive experience and expertise to direct the planning, design, development, and testing of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical sub-systems and components for our premium quality laundry products and services. In this leadership role, you will mentor and support the development of the Electrical Engineer Team while working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team that is closely aligned with our internal customer group.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical sub-systems and components to meet project objectives.
  • Write comprehensive design specifications and develop rigorous test plans and specifications for evaluating electrical components and sub-systems, including but not limited to motors, transformers, contactors, drives, relays, switches, heaters, and sensors.
  • Guide the development of detailed drawings for electrical components and systems
  • Lead the setting up and description of test specifications for electrical and electronic controls.
  • Initiate collaboration with suppliers and in-house teams to refine and optimize the development of sub-systems and components.
  • Ensure that sub-systems and components meet marketing specifications and regulatory requirements with full system design integration.
  • Provide expert-level technical support to production, addressing QI’s, CI’s, and offering solutions to complex problems.
  • Identify and specify components and microcontrollers for new designs, driving development and implementation from concept to production.
  • Mentor and support Electrical Engineer team members, fostering skill development and promoting best practices.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of 8 years of Electrical Engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Motor drive experience and embedded controls are preferred

  

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering design software and equipment.
  • Proficiency in software programs including assembly, C, or higher-level languages for microcontroller-based electronic controls.
  • Strong technical writing skills, able to produce technical reports and documentations within tight timeframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail balanced with an understanding of larger project goals and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and eager to take on complex challenges.
  • Adept at mentoring and developing junior engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

  

Standard and Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, and bending
  • Capable of doing light lifting, moving, and carrying of items
