Overview

The Regional General Manager leads the West Region of our North America Commercial business and is responsible for a $100-$150m P&L. This is a multi-faceted role that demands a blend of strategic thinking, leadership skills, and hands-on execution. You will play a critical role in setting the strategic direction, driving sales, managing key accounts, and leading a team to achieve and exceed business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a clear commercial strategy for the West Region, aligning with the overall North America strategy and global objectives. Lead market analysis and identify growth opportunities.
  • Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Use insights to inform business strategy and product development.
  • Sales Growth: Drive sales performance across the West Region by developing and implementing effective sales strategies. Ensure the achievement of sales targets and KPIs through active management of the sales pipeline and key customer relationships.
  • Financial Management: Responsible for the region's P&L, budgeting, and forecasting. Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and implement measures to ensure profitability.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Establish clear goals and expectations, provide regular feedback and coaching, and ensure the team has the necessary resources and training to achieve their goals.
  • Key Account Management: Personally manage and nurture strategic key accounts within the region, ensuring exceptional service and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Partnerships and Business Development: Identify and develop strategic partnerships and channels to market that will support the growth objectives of the region. Lead negotiations and manage partnerships for success.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee operational processes and systems to ensure efficiency and high-quality customer service. Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve operational workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or comparable field. Equivalent years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • At 7+ years of experience in a commercial leadership role with a proven track record in sales growth and strategic account management, preferably within relevant industry.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of both independent and direct business models.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strong combination of strategic thinking and tactical implementation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of P&L management, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Ability to travel as required within the region, up to 70% of the time.

For California, Colorado, and Washington, the compensation range for this role is $220,000 to $250,000 plus eligible for commission and/or bonus . Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
