The Regional Sales Manager - Direct is responsible for growing demand for Speed Queen products resulting in increased unit sales and margin. Key aspects of this position include the execution/implementation of results-oriented sales strategies, cultivation of a premium experience for consumers at the store level, and creation/maintenance of high-quality business relationships with Direct retailers. 


To amplify these activities, the Regional Sales Manager - Direct will leverage both internal sales support and external field-based partners to achieve sales objectives and build the brand.


What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities):

  • Achieve sales and margin targets established by the General Manager – Direct Sales for the Direct territory
  • Work closely with internal and external partners toward goal of improving margin and providing growth
  • Develop and nurture strong professional relationships with retail laundry accounts across the Direct business
  • Assist accounts in several key disciplines, including but not limited to product features and benefits, store marketing, revenue enhancement opportunities, and general technical support
  • Provide pre- and post-sales support across the retail experience
  • Develop a deep understanding of our current retail/commercial product and distribution network
  • Work closely with Marketing and Product partners to tailor actions to business needs and actively manage our brand in the marketplace
  • Implement company directed sales programs, promotions, and strategies to achieve volume and profit plans while expanding market penetration
  • Conduct on-location sales training on Speed Queen Consumer laundry products and marketing strategies for retail owners and sales representatives
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of all current and potential customers for the assigned channel


What you need to bring to the table (Experience):


Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in business or related field is required; combination of equivalent experience and education will be considered
  • 7+ years of experience in sales roles (appliance & retailer, buy group)
  • Strong understanding of home laundry products and business strategy of successful premium retailers required
  • Experience in premium appliance marketing
  • Involvement in / exposure to larger sales strategy, operations, and/or procedures preferred

  • Strong organizational skills; Ability to self-manage workload and multiple projects simultaneously while managing and meeting tight deadlines
  • Solid business acumen; Ability to understand how different functions/departments interact with and impact one another; Ability to translate strategy into specific, executable action plans
  • Systems-proficient, particularly MS Office


  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 50% of the time

Standard and Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record
