Key Projects and Responsibilities: 

As a Buyer/Planner Intern, you will be immersed in a variety of critical tasks including: 

1. Issuing and maintaining purchase orders with suppliers. 
2. Completing weekly Material Requirements Planning (MRP). 
3. Collaborating with manufacturing to address plant needs and shortages. 

Daily Responsibilities: 

• Maintain accurate computer records for supplier data, effective dates, and related entries. 
• Coordinate parts and materials availability with production scheduling, suppliers, engineering, and quality assurance teams. 
• Develop and manage inventory planning and scheduling methods to achieve Customer Service and Inventory Reduction Objectives. 
• Implement and refine methods such as KanBan, JIT, Vendor Managed Inventory, Demand Flow Technology, supply agreements, and Demand Driven KanBan to continuously improve Materials Planning performance. 

Education: 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Operations & Supply Chain or Business Administration (preferred). 

Skills and Abilities: 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Proficient in computer use. 
• Experience with SAP is a plus. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to perform tasks involving extended periods of sitting, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending, and minimal lifting.
