Overview

The Data Solutions Specialist will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between data technology and business needs. This individual must be comfortable with ambiguity, adept at wearing multiple hats, and proficient in working directly with end users. Responsibilities include user training, data warehousing, and the development of top-tier reporting solutions. The ideal candidate is experienced with the Azure, Snowflake, Dataiku, and Power BI stack. Will have a primary responsibility in coaching on Dataiku and Power BI in the areas of data prep, data pipeline creation and report development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders across the enterprise to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Utilize Dataiku for data integration, transformation, and analysis. Focus will be on coaching users to perform these tasks.
  • Develop business intelligence dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Develop and execute training to support end users on the effective use of data tools and technologies.
  • Embrace ambiguity, taking initiative to identify and solve problems across various data-related tasks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of data and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of data governance practices and ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools, technologies, and methods to enhance our data and analytics capabilities.
  • Work as key member of Analytics CoE to establish standards and best practices for enterprise analytics development via the Federated model within ALS.
  • Coach zone data analysts and BI developers on best practices as outlined by the CoE and ensuring adherence to CoE policies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, analytics, computer science, or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar analytics or data-focused role.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate level proficiency in:
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Data warehousing solutions, particularly Azure and Snowflake (or similar).
  • Knowledge with other cloud platforms and big data technologies.
  • Dataiku for data processing and analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience with data governance and management practices.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools.
  • Strong skills in building advanced dashboards and reports with Power BI (or similar, Tableau, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and embrace complex, ambiguous tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in training and supporting end users.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
